This year's Book Fest will be a week-long celebration starting on February 14th with a goody bag pickup and ending on February 18th with a prize giveaway. In between there are two virtual events: A discussion panel with guest authors and a special book club!

Book Fest Bag Pick-Up

Pick up a special Book Fest bag filled with some goodies. Take home a free book too! While supplies last.

Tales Retold - Virtual Panel

Join authors Katee Robert, Jill Alexander Essbaum, Michelle Ruiz Keil, along with past Book Fest author Aminah Mae Safi in a discussion about modern retellings of classic stories. We’ll discuss what inspired them to write a retelling, why they wanted to highlight certain elements and so much more! The session will be followed by an audience Q&A.

Writing Workshop

Gain inspiration, learn a different style, and hone your craft in this workshop focused on retellings. We'll discuss what a retelling is, how to write a retelling, and then you'll write a scene of your own.

Book Fest Book Club

Discussing Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman
Join us to discuss the book Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman. The first 10 to register for this book club will receive a free copy of book. The first 10 will receive an email from us with info on how to get your book.

Book Fest Prize Drawing

We will draw four winners for gift baskets filled with signed copies of our Book Fest authors' books! Winners must have attended one of the two Book Fest events (panel and/or book club) to be eligible to win.

Book Fest 2022 Wrap Up

ICYMI, our week-long celebration of books and bookish-ness (AKA La Quinta Book Fest 2022) took place February 14-18. We hosted a panel session on retellings with four amazing authors, a book club with the book's author, and a writing workshop! Attendees also received a special Book Fest bag, free book, and were entered into a drawing to win SIGNED COPIES of our guest authors' books! We already have a few ideas for Book Fest 2023 and we'll start planning it soon! Yes, it does take a lot of time to plan something like this...but we love it! And we love that we can provide these types of events for our community. Poet and Author Jill Alexander Essbaum to Join La Quinta Book Fest 2022 Panel

Poet Jill Alexander Essbaum and author of  Hausfrau , will join our  Tales Retold  panel session at Book Fest 2022! Jill Alexander Essbaum is the author of several collections of poetry including Heaven (winner of the Katherine Bakeless Nason prize), Necropolis, Harlot, and most recently, Would-Land. Her first novel, Hausfrau, was a New York Times Bestseller and has been translated into 26 languages.  Her work has appeared in dozens of journals including Poetry, The Christian Century, Image,  and The Rumpus, and has been included in textbooks and anthologies including The Best American Erotic Poems and two editions of the annual Best American Poetry anthology.
