@ La Quinta Book Fest

There will be two story times at Book Fest for the kiddos! 

11:30 AM - Miss Lenny will present Bilingual Story Time in English and Spanish! Join us for songs, stories, and a puppet show!

1:30 PM - Book Fest authors Boychick & Bear will be reading their book, Yorkietown*, during this special story time.
*This book will be available for purchase starting at 2:30 PM,
and there will be an opportunity to have it signed by the authors!
About the book: Yorkietown follows Zaggy, an over-sized Yorkie, who desperately wants to fit in. His wish to be small is granted by a magical Scottish duck, but when the town is threatened by a "wackley" Doberman hound, Zaggy realizes his true size is a prize after all! Yorkietown promotes self-acceptance by embracing the unique differences and individual gifts within us all.

Poet and Author Jill Alexander Essbaum to Join La Quinta Book Fest 2022 Panel

Poet Jill Alexander Essbaum and author of  Hausfrau , will join our  Tales Retold  panel session at Book Fest 2022! Jill Alexander Essbaum is the author of several collections of poetry including Heaven (winner of the Katherine Bakeless Nason prize), Necropolis, Harlot, and most recently, Would-Land. Her first novel, Hausfrau, was a New York Times Bestseller and has been translated into 26 languages.  Her work has appeared in dozens of journals including Poetry, The Christian Century, Image,  and The Rumpus, and has been included in textbooks and anthologies including The Best American Erotic Poems and two editions of the annual Best American Poetry anthology. Michelle Ruiz Keil, author of Summer in the City of Roses , will be participating in our  Tales Retold  panel session at Book Fest 2022! We can't wait! Michelle Ruiz Keil is the author of the critically acclaimed young adult novels Summer In The City of Roses and All of Us With Wings . Her writing for adults can be found most recently in Bitch Magazine, Cosmonauts Avenue, and The Buckman Journal. She is a 2021 Tin House Scholar and the recipient of residencies at Hedgebrook and The Sitka Center and the Bloedel Reserve.
