Book Fest 2020 Schedule Posted


137 days until La Quinta Book Fest 2020, but who's counting (Ahem, we are!)?

We have added the day's SCHEDULE for you to peruse, along with some info on registration and lunch. For those of you wondering about the authors and panelists joining us this year, stay tuned because we will be announcing them shortly!

LQ Book Fest is completely free, BUT... We do require you to sign up to attend panel sessions because seating is limited. PLUS, the first 150 guests to register during the registration period (November 1, 2019 - January 20, 2020) are guaranteed a free boxed lunch from Panera! Mmm, delicious!

Book Fest 2022 Wrap Up

ICYMI, our week-long celebration of books and bookish-ness (AKA La Quinta Book Fest 2022) took place February 14-18. We hosted a panel session on retellings with four amazing authors, a book club with the book's author, and a writing workshop! Attendees also received a special Book Fest bag, free book, and were entered into a drawing to win SIGNED COPIES of our guest authors' books! We already have a few ideas for Book Fest 2023 and we'll start planning it soon! Yes, it does take a lot of time to plan something like this...but we love it! And we love that we can provide these types of events for our community. A special and huge thank you to our guest authors-- Katee Robert, Josh Malerman, Michelle Ruiz Keil, Jill Alexander Essbaum, and Aminah Mae Safi-- for joining us to talk about their books, writing process, inspirations, and more! Poet and Author Jill Alexander Essbaum to Join La Quinta Book Fest 2022 Panel

Poet Jill Alexander Essbaum and author of  Hausfrau , will join our  Tales Retold  panel session at Book Fest 2022! Jill Alexander Essbaum is the author of several collections of poetry including Heaven (winner of the Katherine Bakeless Nason prize), Necropolis, Harlot, and most recently, Would-Land. Her first novel, Hausfrau, was a New York Times Bestseller and has been translated into 26 languages.  Her work has appeared in dozens of journals including Poetry, The Christian Century, Image,  and The Rumpus, and has been included in textbooks and anthologies including The Best American Erotic Poems and two editions of the annual Best American Poetry anthology. A two-time NEA fellow, Jill lives and writes in Austin, Tx.   Find Jill on  Twitter Our  Tales Retold  panel session will be held virtually on Tuesday, February 15 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.  This event is  free , but registration is required.
