Book Fest 2020 Update: Announcing Aja Gabel!

We are excited to announce Aja Gabel as a La Quinta Book Fest 2020 guest author and panelist!

Aja Gabel's debut novel, The Ensemble, was published in 2018 and follows the stories of four young friends navigating the cutthroat world of music and their complex relationships with one another, as ambition, passion, and love intertwine over the course of their lives.
Mat Johnson, author of Pym and Loving Day, on The Ensemble:
"The Ensemble deserves a standing ovation...
Aja Gabel is a brilliant young writer with the rare gift of an old soul."
Read an interview with the author where she discusses the inspiration behind her novel, how she decided what music to incorporate into the novel, how she balanced writing and being a competitive cellist, and more.

In addition to her novel, Aja also has a collection of prose, including a recent Buzzfeed article titled, "AMC's "The Terror" And The Truth About Japanese Internment Camps," in which she examines the second season of the AMC series depicting the horrors of Japanese American internment and shares the experience her grandmother lived through.

Aja will be a panelist in our "On Writing" panel at Book Fest 2020 on Saturday, February 1!
Head over to our Panel Sessions page for info on all our panel topics plus registration information.

Find her on Twitter, Instagram, or at http://www.ajagabel.com/
